2021 Welcome Note

Dear GYL Families

It is my pleasure to announce that our season will open as scheduled! We have gone to great lengths to ensure a safe and fun environment for all. Our Medical Advisory Board has created COVID-19 protocols applicable for the GYL experience and in accordance with Town of Greenwich and State of Connecticut guidelines. They are posted on our website and we will communicate any changes as they develop.

While we have done all that we can to prepare for the season, we ask all families to know we are still in a unique period and that this pandemic is still upon us. Please try to roll with changes, challenges, and modifications if they do arise, and be reminded that this is a passing moment. We must ask that you adhere to all 2021 policies so that our players benefit from a secure environment.

Travel tryouts for all 5th – 8th grade travel will commence on Saturday, March 6th. An e-mail was sent to this group yesterday and a reminder will go out tomorrow with full details. We are set for the start of Friday Night Clinic on March 19th and Sunday house league on March 21st for all K – 4 boys and girls players. You will receive an email next week with all the particulars. Lastly, our Intro to Travel Lacrosse for boys and girls in grades 3 and 4 will begin in early April and you will receive information as we get closer to that date.  We are updating the Key Dates section of our web site as soon as new information becomes available.  Also note, registration will remain open on a rolling basis so please pass the word along to any of your friends who may still be interested in playing lacrosse this spring.

Please familiarize yourself with our new and updated website for all program information and follow us on Facebook and Instagram! The table has been set for a fun and productive season for your children. Our program philosophy remains steadfast in looking to develop your child both on and off the field.  Don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions and please engage us if you want to get involved and volunteer! This is your town-based program!

We are excited to be on the fields this weekend for travel tryouts.  As a reminder, all GYL participants MUST WEAR A MASK at all times at any GYL event in the 2021 season, and spectators are not allowed at tryouts.
