Remembering Jamie benincasa

We are deeply saddened by the sudden loss of Jamie Benincasa, a truly remarkable man whose life was tragically cut short. Jamie was a beacon of kindness, selflessness, and dedication, and his impact on our community will be felt for years to come.

Jamie was a dedicated volunteer with Greenwich Youth Lacrosse. He was a spectacular coach who inspired girls and boys to not only excel on the field but to carry the values of teamwork, discipline, and respect in all aspects of their lives. Jamie’s dedication and the way he mentored young athletes epitomizes GYL’s strive to make a difference to our athletes. On Saturday April 19, GYL’s travel teams will participate 3v3 tournament to honor Coach Benincasa. We will make a donation to the memorial tribute fund that will be established.

Jamie was also a committed volunteer at St. Agnes and St. Catherine of Siena Church, Boy Scouts of America, AA, Stanwich School, and Greenwich Country Day School. He was, without a doubt, the most dependable person who would always put up his hand to take on any task.

Jamie’s spirit will live on in the countless lives he touched and the community he helped build. Our love goes out to Jamie’s family, friends, and everyone who was fortunate enough to know him. May we honor his memory by carrying forward the values and kindness he so beautifully exemplified. Godspeed, Coach. We love you and miss you.
