HOUSE LEAGUE

KINDERGARTEN - 4TH GRADE

House League is the fundamental building block for GYL.  Our program is open from Kindergarten to Grade 4. We strive to make a fun and age-appropriate competitive environment to foster skill development and a love for the game. House League's main focus is on skill development, small sided play, team building, and FUN!  Many of our coaches are GYL alumni and former college players.  We work with master coaches and elite high school coaches to create a curriculum that is best for the development of young players.  Every player will have two sessions per week: Friday Night Clinics and Sunday House League games.

Please see our Key Dates page for the starting date for this season.

If you have any questions about our House League program, please contact Sarah O'Connor (girls program) or Craig Wingrove (boys program).

Some of our older house league players (girls in 4th grade and boys in 3rd or 4th grade) may elect to also participate in our Intro to Travel (jump to this section below).  This is an add-on program to House League.

GYL is a long-time advocate of small-sided play for our House League program.

INTRODUCTION TO TRAVEL lacrosse

3RD - 4TH GRADE

Our Intro to Travel program is a great place for our younger players to get a taste of travel lacrosse. Players who participate in the Intro to Travel program are required to participate in House League.  All games will be played against other town programs in our area using consistent rules across the CONNY league.  Our travel teams are open to all skill and experience levels and players are placed on a travel team that is appropriate for their skill development. Our travel teams focus on skill building, sportsmanship, healthy competition, team building, fun, fitness, and the development of character on and off the field.
