Greenwich Youth Lacrosse

Greenwich Youth Lacrosse (GYL) is the founding lacrosse program in the town of Greenwich, CT. GYL IS ALL ABOUT THE KIDS and is the only non-profit lacrosse organization in Greenwich serving Kindergarten through 8th grade boys and girls since 1972. GYL is a member of the Connecticut New York Youth Lacrosse Association (CONNY). CONNY serves all town-based programs and hosts a season-ending tournament at Yale University. GYL has trained tens of thousands of players since its inception and prides itself on teaching the game of lacrosse through sportsmanship, integrity, effort, enjoyment, and teamwork. We are fortunate to have many GYL alumni who played college lacrosse volunteer their time as coaches. We also work closely with local high school lacrosse coaches so that our players are learning best practices and techniques for lacrosse skill development and mastery.

GYL's goal is to make a positive impact on your child and all children in Greenwich. This positive impact involves teaching lacrosse, character, sportsmanship, teamwork, and leadership skills. GYL works very closely with the nationally ranked area high schools to develop and constantly update our program offering from youngest to oldest! There are close to 200 volunteers coaches that help differentiate us from other area programs. Several were former first team, second and third team All-American college players that complement a diversity of coaching talent. Our coaching team also includes a professional goalie that runs clinics for GYL and all town high schools. All GYL coaches go through a Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) training workshop and are US Lacrosse level one coaching certified. All of our coaches submit to background checks. We measure success not only by the achievements of the area high schools and individual players but most importantly by the positive impact we've had on all of our players, whether they continue to play after GYL, or not. We are a family based program and try to best serve the needs of our community by offering excellence at an affordable level which includes need based scholarships.

We need awesome people who can coach lacrosse and mentor our youth, but we also need awesome people with skills in organization, operations, information technology, social media, and communications.  We are a very fun team with lots of talented people!
